This July, Rivich Auction will present more than 200 Americana and Native American collectibles in its upcoming sale. Among the highlights is a bronze sculpture after the style of Frederic Sackrider Remington, an American sculptor, painter, illustrator, and writer known for his portrayals of the American West. Native Americans, the US Calvary, cowboys, and other Western symbols were a particular focus of his works from the last quarter of the 19th century. A frequent traveler to the West, Remington was inspired by the culture and the way of life that he experienced. He greatly admired the intrepidity and roughness of the cowboys and soldiers he met there. The available Buffalo Hunt bronze statue, based on Frederic Remington’s artwork, is handcrafted in the lost wax casting technique. It was reproduced accurately after Remington’s original.

Several Native American items are also on offer in the auction. A highlight is a Native American Acoma pottery vessel. One of North America’s oldest communities, the Acoma Pueblo, is widely recognized for its pottery styles and methods. The community has been using these techniques since its founding in 1150.
