Massive Militaria Collections of RAF Fighter Pilot’s Medal Group and WWII CBI A-2 Group to Sell With Eagles Corps International

Fighter pilot Hugh William Eliot’s combat career is regarded as extraordinary, as it spanned five theatres of war. The Hurricane Fighter Ace Wing Commander was killed in action at the young age of 23. An extensive ensemble of Eliot’s belongings is a key highlight of the upcoming sale from Eagles Corps International. These include a pair of Second War flying gauntlets, a cockpit light, and a canvas gas mask bag. The collection also comprises two of his flying log books, both of which are annotated “Killed in Action” and stamped “Central Depository Royal Air Force, Apr. 1946.” His Air Ministry Certificate of Competency and License to Fly Private Flying Machines are among the important documents. Another noteworthy item is a letter to Mr. and Mrs. Eliot from F/O Richard Bradley, 19 S.A.A.F. Squadron, containing a poem he composed in memory of their son (dated April 10, 1945).  A massive collection of a CBI Combat Cargo and Troop Carrier Pilot also leads the listing. It includes an original WWII CBI A-2 jacket, CBI-made leather tooled squadron patch, and shoulder insignia.
