Joshua Kodner’s Pre-Valentines Day Sale

Born in Virginia, Ralph Wolfe Cowan was an American portrait artist whose work spanned 70 years. He is well known for having painted monarchs and statesmen over the course of his career. The subjects of these portraits included the Sultan of Brunei, King Hassan II, King Fahd, Shaikh Zayed of the United Arab Emirates, and Mikhail Gorbachev. The upcoming Pre-Valentines Day Sale presented by Joshua Kodner features one of Cowan’s oil paintings. The available lot was part of the artist’s The Age of Innocence series. Another key lot of the sale is a Coke Bottle acrylic on paper painting by Steve Penley.
