Marked Italy, 18K, the necklace features a gold claw clasp closure and has a total length of 16 inches. Another notable jewelry lot in the sale is a gold, diamond, and sapphire bracelet. Men on horseback, standing, and in carriages wait for the hunt to begin. In the distance, a forest is visible where they plan to hunt. Leading the auction is a Lakota ledger drawing titled Mounted Warrior with War Paint and a Shield. This piece is part of a collection of drawings found in a ledger book at the Amidon courthouse lawn sale. Three different Lakota artists worked on it in the 1880s, portraying events of the day. Among the artists was Jaw, also called His Fight, a Hunkpapa Lakota. The available artwork depicts an armored warrior carrying a shield, commonly symbolic of a powerful warrior who has won battles, with significant cultural significance associated with the shield's design and the warrior's facial painting. Also available is a 1985 painting by legendary Western artist Jack Swanson. As one of the first Cowboy Artists of America, Swanson was renowned for capturing the essence of California vaquero cultures and the Western cowboy spirit. It is a limited edition numbered 42 out of 99. On verso, there is a justification page in French that is signed by the artist and dated 1963. Dalí was an accomplished draftsman who achieved fame for his Surrealist paintings. Many of his designs were inspired by Renaissance masters. The character of Don Quixote appears in Miguel de Cervantes' novel Don Quixote. Dalí made many etchings of Don Quixote, one of his most cherished subjects.
