Renowned sculptor James Tandi often uses verdite stone to capture Africa’s native people and wildlife. For each of his sculptures, Tandi visits the verdite mine where he hand-selects his materials. He believes in doing so, he is “revealing the spirit which is within the stone.” A carved verdite and bone elephant statue by Tandi is available in the upcoming Eclectic Collection of Estates Worldwide sale, offered by Akiba Antiques. The statue is titled Mazoe and is signed.
Also available in the event is a Bvlgari “Tubogas” watch in 18-karat yellow gold. It features a flexible construction, black dial, and quartz movement. It comes with an original presentation case and engraved bezel. A gilt-bronze and glass telescopic floor lamp by Austrian artist Gustav Gurschner is on sale as well. The lamp features a blue Loetz glass shaft and dome base. Browse the entire catalog at Bidsquare and register to place a bid.
