On the bottom left, a pencil signature “Cl. M” is visible. Monet, a founder of Impressionist painting, was born on November 14, 1840, in Paris. He is most famous for his Les Nymphéas (The Water Lilies), a series of roughly 250 oil paintings produced from the late 1890s to his death in 1926. Also available is a set of 27 small watercolor sketches attributed to Pablo Picasso (1881 – 1973). The artist’s signature appears in each piece but none are dated. Another notable lot is an unframed oil on canvas and abstract composition attributed to American artist Lee Krasner (1908 – 1984). The work measures 50 inches high and 20 inches wide. Elizabeth Catlett’s Faces of My People is a figural bronze sculpture leading the upcoming Mexican & American Remarkable Collection, offered by Cain Modern Auctions. The coupé utility model was modified from the two-door wagon platform by incorporating the cab/cargo bed.
