Atlantic Beach, an oil on board painting by Robert Jones (b.1943), is one of the leading lots in the Late Summer Auction from Rafael Osona Auctions. Jones was a fisherman in the coastal waters of his native Cornwall before becoming a full-time artist. It was during this time that his love of the sea developed. American artist Jeff Koons is famous for his playful, bold sculptures and paintings. Born on January 21, 1955 in York, Pennsylvania, Koons rose to fame in the 1980s. He studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and graduated from the Maryland Institute of Art in 1976. His porcelain sculpture Michael Jackson and Bubbles from 1988 is still considered iconic.
