Partners Edward Howard, David Davis, and Aaron Lufkin Dennison intended to make completely interchangeable clock movement parts. This lead to the formation of the Boston Watch Company in 1849. However, due to low sales, the company closed a decade later. Following its demise, Howard partnered with Charles Rice to create the E. Howard & Co. watch company, which became known for its creation of industry guidelines. The upcoming Showplace auction presents an Art Deco E. Howard & Co. 14-karat white gold pocket watch. This 1920s open-faced watch has a silver dial with black Arabic numbers.

Another highlight is a 1919 Gorham American Fairfax flatware set. This “S” monogram set is a classic Gorham design composed of clean lines and high polish. The auction also features Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including a silver pearl necklace. It was designed by Paloma Picasso, the daughter of the famous artist.
