Diamond and gemstone jewelry items from Percossi Papi will be available in Kodner Galleries’ upcoming auction. Percossi Papi is known for its maximalist style, which the Italian brand describes as what “Lucrezia Borgia might wear if she were alive and kicking.” This sale will include two gemstone and enamel brooches from Percossi Papi. One of them depicts a full-rigged ship, complete with pearl and gilt metal details.
A 14.71-carat yellow diamond ring is also among the notable jewelry lots. The main diamond is flanked by two trillion-cut diamonds. A GIA report accompanies the lot, certifying the SI2 clarity of the yellow stone. Those interested in timepieces will find several options in this event, including a rose gold watch from Girard-Perregaux. An outline map of South and Central America covers the self-winding movement on the back of the dial.
Beyond jewelry and watches, this auction will include a selection of American fine art. A pencil sketch attributed to Thomas Hart Benton, who was associated with the American Regionalism movement of the 1930s, will be on offer. This sketch shows overturned houses and scattered debris from a natural disaster. Bidders can also consider seven cardboard paintings by outsider artist Purvis Young.
