Featured in the upcoming Home Décor and Collectibles Auction, offered by Whitley’s Auctioneers, is a variety of Royal Doulton figurines and character jugs. Originally established in 1815 as Doulton & Co., the ceramics producer became Royal Doulton in 1902 after a royal warrant was given. Among the featured lots is a Sonia HN1692 Royal Doulton figurine. Issued between 1935 and 1949 and designed by Leslie Harradine, this figurine resembles an Art Deco Victorian lady. She wears a pink and white dress and is shown sitting on the edge of a green and brown chair.
An Aladdin’s Genie flambe Royal Doulton character jug can also be found in the auction. This jug, by artist David B. Biggs, is edition number 14 of 1,500 released in 1994. This was also the first jug to be decorated in flambe – a red copper-based porcelain glaze with purple streaks.
Other available items include an original French Art Deco advertisement for the Filver Company depicting a clown wearing suspenders. A pair of Native American Plains Indian dolls created and signed by K.J. Ramos, also known as Plenty Horses, will be presented as well. Register to bid and view the entire collection on Bidsquare.
