During the Art Deco period of the 1920s, Baume & Mercier introduced square-and-rectangular-case watches, known as ‘Hamptons.’ Their name was taken from the Hampton neighborhoods in New York. Available in the upcoming Decorative Arts and Local Estates Auction, offered by Uniques & Antiques, is a ladies stainless steel diamond watch by Baume & Mercier. The tank-style Hampton face has seven diamonds on either side.

Among the standout items of this sale is a collector’s edition long dining table by Baker Furniture. Founded in 1890 by Siebe Baker as Cook, Baker & Co., American manufacturer Baker Furniture is known for its Georgian period reproductions. Also available in this auction are works by acclaimed military artist Józef Brandt. His paintings are noted for capturing the dynamics of action through a more realistic lens.
