Highlights of How Our Partner Museums are Adapting to COVID
* Tower of David Museum of the History of Jerusalem offers a comprehensive overview of Jerusalem’s 3000-year history. Housed in the medieval citadel that guards the entrance to the Old City, its outdoor spaces provide the ideal vantage point for its acclaimed series of sound and light presentations highlighting different eras of Jerusalem. For those wishing to visit from home, a series of VR tours mixing real-time video with CGI and animation offer a range of experiences including stepping into the Middle Ages with crusader King Baldwin II.
* Haifa Museum of Art – Israel’s first onsite and online exhibitions fully dedicated to coronavirus open this September 4. Nine separate exhibitions examine ways in which the virus has impacted our lives. Given that the museum’s auditoriums are still closed, upcoming educational online outreach debuting next month includes site-specific, multimedia, and virtual live events.
* Design Museum Holon, designed by Ron Arad, recently reopened its onsite exhibition, “State of Extremes,” which probes the social, technological, and environmental crises that increasingly define our current condition of extremes — while examining ways in which design can act as a mediating, moderating, and healing force.
