The Eddie Basha Collection

Martin Grelle is best known for capturing the spirit of Native American and cowboy culture in his paintings. One of Grelle’s oil paintings, titled Warriors, is available in the upcoming auction presented by Bonhams. This piece shows three Plains warriors riding across a mountain. 

This auction of the Eddie Basha Collection assembles a range of fine art. Among them, Crows in Yellowstone by Howard Terpning stands out. Terpning was known as “…an extraordinary visual storyteller with a focus on historical depictions.” The Crow warriors were regarded as expert horsemen in the region that is now called Yellowstone. This painting shows a band of these warriors carefully navigating a treacherous area, which Terpning shows in attentive detail. John Coleman’s bronze sculpture is also of particular interest.
