Stanley Quentin Johnson was an American artist best known for his sculptures. On the second day of Jackson’s International’s upcoming Spectacular Spring Collector’s Choice Auction, one of Johnson’s bronze sculptures is showcased. This 1983 piece represents a kneeling Native American with a large eagle landing on his outstretched, leather-wrapped arm. Eagle in Flight rests on a signed, polished marble base.
Included in the auction are three signed Associated American Artist prints. This New York gallery was open from 1934 to 2000, offering fine art, decorative art, and furniture items to the general public. Artists featured in this auction include Joseph Hirsch, Luigi Lucioni, and Joseph Margulies. The available prints from each artist are signed in the lower right of the print and come with a label from the gallery. Man with Logs, the print by Hirsch, is contained in a glazed frame. A French bronze Putti sculpture, two wooden figures of Adam and Eve, and several 18th-century Italian engravings can also be found. Visit Invaluable to view the complete catalog and register to bid.
