Alexander Calder was an American sculptor widely known as the inventor of the artistic mobile. The Modern Art & Design auction features one of his works. This mobile sculpture is made of painted black sheet metal, one red piece, and wire. It is signed by the artist and dated 1972. Also offered in this Palm Beach Modern Auctions sale is a large dining table by French artist Serge Roche. This table was made in the late 1940s for actress Martine Carol, who was part of Parisian society at that time. The table sits at 30 inches tall and is made of oak and antique mirrored glass.
