Featured in Blackwell Auctions’ upcoming June Exceptional Estates Auction is a Handel reverse-painted lamp with apple blossoms and butterflies. Best known for its painted landscape shades, the Handel Company operated from 1885 to 1941. This lamp, marked with the company’s signature patent number, was likely produced after 1910. The 18-inch shade remains in good condition. Also available is a Patek Philippe Art Deco ladies’ wristwatch. Its serial number dates it just before the 1920s. Hand-painted yellow flowers decorate the enamel face, while the platinum case is engraved with the name of the former Massachusetts owner.
Collectors of vintage music memorabilia can consider an antique Regina music box, which is offered in this sale with ten disks. Regina was one of the first music box producers in the United States. It led the industry until the turn of the 20th century, when new inventions began to outpace traditional music boxes. This 15.5-inch piece is in working condition and is marked “Copyright 1896 by the Regina Music Box Co.” in script. An Irish sterling silver chocolate pot and a carved ivory statue of Ganesh, the Hindu god of beginnings, will be offered as well.
