Interiors

A wide array of furniture, lighting, drawings, watercolors, and paintings are offered in the Interiors Auction by Christie’s .  At the forefront of the auction, with an estimated value of $60,000 is an oil painting by the German Expressionist painter and printmaker, Christian Rohlfs (1849-1938).  Rohlfs work was greatly influenced by fellow artists Vincent Van Gogh and Emil Nolde.  The 1928 painting titled “Tänzerin mit Schleier” translates to “Dancer with Veil,”. It has a flowy feminine image, and the colors red and yellow have been used predominantly.

Also highlighted in the auction is a Tiffany Studios’ Poppy table lamp, circa 1915.  This colorfully elegant lamp features bright red poppy flowers with green leaves on a rich gold background and has an estimated value of up to $50,000.  Visit Christie’s to view all 492 lots and to place a bid today.
