Gala New Year’s Auction

The Gala New Year’s Auction presented by Nest Egg Auctions will offer an array of miniatures, seashells, estate jewelry, decorative art, fine art, rugs, and more. The auction also features items by Vernon Smith, known for his relief woodcarvings, metal miniatures, paintings, and batik works. Available in this sale is an antique set of miniature American furniture, crafted by Smith around 1930. The set includes 15 pieces of furniture, along with other handmade accessories. This set was kept with Smith’s family for years before coming to auction. Another of his available pieces is a group of ten handmade batiks. Each bears a unique design and artist mark. 

Rising to the top of the sale is a reverse painted table lamp from the estate of collector Frederick Matzow and author Agnes Baur. The shade shows an autumn scene. Another highlight of the auction is a bracelet from David Yurman’s Confetti Collection.
