Jean Michel Schlumberger was one of the leading jewelry designers of the 20th century. His jewelry caught the attention of Walter Hoving, the chairman of Tiffany & Co. After being offered a job at the luxury firm, Schlumberger became one of only four jewelers who have signed their creations for Tiffany & Co. The upcoming Fine Jewelry and Watches auction offered by Hampton Estate Auctions will highlight a Schlumberger-designed rope diamond ring for Tiffany & Co. This band ring was made with yellow gold twisted in a rope pattern, accented by round-cut diamonds and platinum.

A Patek Philippe Calatrava watch is another featured lot of the auction. Manufactured from 1932 until 1973, the available piece is an example of the first Calatrava model that Patek Philippe produced. This rose gold watch features pearled edges and displays the subsidiary seconds above six o’clock. Another lot of interest is a gold tiger’s eye link necklace. Believed to aid harmony and balance, this necklace is designed as a long rope-work chain, accented throughout with cylindrical tiger’s eye beads.
