When Gérald Genta, a designer for Patek Philippe, created the first sketch for the Nautilus watch in a restaurant, he intended the timepiece to be a water-ready sports watch. His creation has since been worn by the likes of Drake, Trevor Noah, and Mark Wahlberg. Featured in the upcoming Estate Jewelry, Fine Art, & Collectibles Auction, offered by Kodner Galleries, is a white gold Nautilus watch in new condition. It has a slate-gray dial with a self-winding movement, which harnesses energy from the wearer’s natural motion.
Beyond the jewelry pieces, this auction also includes a selection of fine and decorative art. Leading these items is a silkscreen on paper piece from Russian-born American painter Ilya Bolotowsky, who was known for his abstract paintings. He was inspired by the Mondrian art approach, known as Neo-Plasticism, which focuses on the most basic elements of painting.
