A leading lot in this auction was sculpted by Ai Weiwei, a Chinese artist Representing Ai in this auction is a series of sculptures entitled “The Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads”. The series recreates the twelve traditional Chinese zodiac sculptures that once adorned the Yuanming Yuan fountain clock, an architectural centerpiece of Beijing.
