AAA Auction Gallery, Inc. Includes Cartier, Van Cleep & Arpels in Upcoming Auction

AAA Auction Gallery, Inc. will host the Holiday, Estate Jewelry, Russian Bronze Sculptures auction. Jewelry from Cartier’s Panthere de Cartier collection and a platinum diamond necklace from Van Cleep & Arpels will be available, as will bronze sculptures and Russian figural kovshs. The Panthere de Cartier line is a nod to Cartier’s first female Artistic Director, Jeanne Toussaint, who held that position from 1933 until her retirement in 1970. According to the company’s website, Toussaint not only revolutionized jewelry for today’s woman but was an important influencer as well. Her jewelry style, or the “Toussaint taste,” has been imitated by many elitists and socialites, including Barbara Hutton, the former Duchess of Windsor, and Nina Dyer, the first wife of Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan. AAA Auction Gallery, Inc. will offer several Panthere de Cartier diamond bracelets, rings, and necklaces, all with the iconic panther emblem. 

A platinum diamond necklace by French luxury jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels will also be in the auction. This necklace is 16 inches long with a 1-inch drop and weighs 35 grams. There are a total of 143 round-cut diamonds, giving it more than 20 carats. Among the other items listed are a Russian jeweled gold guilloche egg with diamonds, a silver and enamel plique-a-jour horse by Russian F. Ruckert, a bronze sculpture of Mademoiselle Pogany by Romanian artist Constantin Brancusi, and a bronze cubist sculpture in the form of a lady by American Ukrainian sculptor A. Archipenko.
