Tiancheng International announces highlights included in the Jewellery and Jadeite Spring Auction 2020

HONG KONG.-Tiancheng International Jewellery and Jadeite Spring Auction will take place on 7 July, showcasing a vast selection of natural coloured gemstones, diamonds and jadeite pieces. Leading the sale is a magnificent 10.25-carat natural unheated Burmese Mogok ruby. Suffused with fiery “pigeon’s blood” colour intensity and unearthed from the celebrated Mogok mine, this gem is an exceptional choice for one’s trophy collection.

“Pigeon’s Blood” Rubies Lot 146 10.25-Carat Natural Unheated Burmese Mogok “Pigeon’s Blood” Ruby and Diamond Ring Estimate: HK$ 25,000,000 – 35,000,000／US$ 3,200,000 – 4,488,000
In recent years, high-quality Burmese rubies have become increasingly rare as mines in Burma deplete. Among them, those weighing 5 carats or above and with the “pigeon’s blood” hue are like gold dust. The present lot is a natural unheated ruby originating from the prestigious Mogok mine in Burma. Displaying saturated red hue and unrivalled translucency, it is certified to possess the “pigeon’s blood” colour by American Gemological Laboratories (AGL), GemResearch Swisslab (GRS) and Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF), making it a paragon of rubies. The surrounding 16 pear-shaped white diamonds, totalling 8.33 carats, bring out the fiery prominence of the treasure that set every heart aflutter.

This vernal piece, designed by Taiwanese jewellery designer Wang Chin-Lin, was inspired by the depleting numbers of wild orchids due to the damages caused to the environment.
