Running until Monday 21 November, it includes artwork by David Hockney, Tracey Emin, Eileen Cooper, Chris Levine, Ian Davenport, Grayson Perry, Damien Hirst and David Shrigley.

The money raised will go towards the Charity’s Oak Cancer Centre Appeal. The Oak Cancer Centre will be a state-of-the-art treatment and research facility at the hospital’s Sutton site and will speed up the development of ground-breaking research, transforming the lives of cancer patients at The Royal Marsden and beyond.

The new centre will bring researchers, clinical staff and thousands of patients together under one roof, ensuring The Royal Marsden can continue to advance treatments for the benefit of cancer patients worldwide.

The David Adams Leukaemia Appeal Fund was set up in memory of the late David Adams, who was treated at The Royal Marsden for two years after being diagnosed with leukaemia. During this time, he raised thousands of pounds towards the Charity’s work, and his efforts have since been continued by his friends and family.

Mandie Adams McGuire MBE, Chair of The David Adams Leukaemia Appeal Fund, said

“We believe that the new Oak Cancer Centre at The Royal Marsden has the potential to fundamentally transform cancer treatment and diagnosis worldwide and are truly honoured to have the support of some of the world’s leading artists to shine a light on this vital fundraising project.”

Antonia Dalmahoy, Managing Director of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, said: “We are hugely grateful to The David Adams Leukaemia Fund for their ongoing and generous support, which makes such a difference to cancer patients.

“The Oak Cancer Centre is going to be an amazing facility and it is thanks to the generosity of supporters like The David Adams Leukaemia Fund that the building will become a reality. I’d also like to say thank you to all the incredible artists who are supporting this auction.”
