A reworking of a painting by Caravaggio that can be seen in Santa Maria del Popolo (Rome), The Crucifixion of Saint Peterwas painted by a follower of the master in 1650.

At Fontainebleau, on Saturday February 28 (Osenat OVV) , 95% of lots realized €230 ,000 , thanks in particular to 70% foreign buyers and a majority of Internet bids. The Crucifixion of St. Peter (134.5 x 98 cm, M. Millet), painted by a follower of the master in 1650, took €14,208, compared with €2 ,560 for Ecce Homo, painted by Daniel Sarrabat (see Gazette no. 8, cabinet Turquin & Associés). Nineteenth century China fetched €6 ,400 for a pair of gilded copper and enamel jardinières, decorated with floral compositions in hard stone (11 x 26 x 16 cm, cabinet Ansas, Papillon & de Léry). The “Beaucaire” mirror from the Louis XV period (see Gazette no. 7) fetched €3,072.
