As the vaccine rollout continues, many collectors are looking forward to viewing lots in person before placing their next bid. Others, meanwhile, would like to cut down on shipping costs by focusing on their nearest auction houses. Collectors in both camps can consider Bidsquare’s new “Auctions Near Me” page, an at-a-glance view of upcoming sales close to the user’s zip code, state, or country.

“We are excited for users to use this tool to make finding auctions an even better online experience,” the President and CEO of Bidsquare, Allis Ghim, told Auction Daily. With the launch of the “Auctions Near Me” page, here is a look at its most noteworthy features.

Search by Zip Code, City, or State

Collectors can decide how exact they want search results to be by entering a city name, zip code, or the name of their state. For example, if a bidder wants to see results for a big city, such as Chicago, they could simply enter “Chicago.” Or, if they want to be more precise, they can enter their zip code to see a list of the upcoming auctions closest to their neighborhood. Those who believe a long drive is a small price to pay for the perfect lot can expand their search to a whole state, such as “Illinois.”

Want to look at street names and landmarks instead of zip codes? There’s also a Google Maps feature below the search bar. “Our integrated map function provides a quick and easy visual reference to seeing all auctions being held in any state, country and globally as well,” Ghim told Auction Daily.

Drop-Down List by State

Not every organization hosts auctions all year round, so some collectors will choose to proactively build a list of nearby auction houses for future reference. That way, they can be sure to check back regularly and never miss a nearby event. A drop-down list of auction houses in all 50 states makes that possible on Bidsquare’s “Auctions Near Me” page. Users will find this feature just below the map.

Blue bid paddles indicate an auction house has events coming up. For example, in Illinois, Hindman has six sales in the near future, and Leonard Auction has one. Still, there are plenty more auction houses in the state that bidders can keep on their radar.

Drop-Down List by Country

In recent years, the number of international auction houses has rapidly expanded. Bidsquare’s “Auctions Near Me” feature now allows collectors worldwide to find their closest auction house. A drop-down list of organizations in different countries appears in a section titled “All Around the World.”

A look at Mexico, for example, shows six upcoming events from Morton Subastas. There are also plenty of other auction houses across Mexico that local bidders can keep an eye on. From Austria to Malaysia, collectors in many different countries can discover their nearest auction house with this feature.
