A family-run Italian fine jewelry and watch company, Buccellati was established in 1919 by Mario Buccellati. After the death of its founder in 1965, the firm was managed by four of his sons. One of the key highlights in the first session of the upcoming White Oaks: Single Owner Auction, presented by Ahlers & Ogletree, is a Buccellati sterling silver figure of an eagle perched on a tree stump. The large bird of prey is detailed with applied small gauge wires mimicking downy feathers. Another lot of interest is a Lalique contemporary glass vase. The “Languedoc” frosted green crystal bulbous vase is etched on the bottom. Well known for producing glass art, Lalique was established in 1888.
The auction also features two oil paintings by Argentinian artist Peter Von Artens. One is titled Pomegranates and Tangerines, while the other is titled Melons. Both are still life paintings of fruits. To view the complete catalog and register to bid online, visit Bidsquare.
