Rivich Auction‘s latest American Gothic sale presents over 170 items to bidders. Among the top lots is a Watling 5 Cent Rol-A-Top slot machine, a popular three-reel slot featuring twin jackpots and front vendors. Above the cast iron front is a cornucopia, circling the coin receiver display disc and brimming with coins. The front panel has scrollwork over two jackpot wells lined with coins. A trademark of Watling appears on the side. Also on offer is a Pace five-cent slot machine. The piece includes a wooden stand and a key to unlock the back.

Collectors can consider several furniture items in this sale, including an antique steamer trunk. A storage container originally intended for steamships, steamer trunks began appearing late in the 1870s but were most common in the 1880s to 1920s. Designed for wealthy travelers of the time, these trunks were functional, durable, and stylish. Furthermore, they may include regional motifs, customized hangers, and linings. Another notable item of furniture in the auction is a demilune federal-style mahogany cabinet by Baker. Known for its innovation, the furniture company is one of the last American manufacturers of furniture.  The offered cabinet’s side features the Baker label.
