In the upcoming Valuable Books & Manuscripts sale, presented by Christie’s, written works from a diverse mix of periods and regions will be available. Among the highlighted lots in the auction is a complete deluxe edition set of the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Each is signed in ink by the associated illustrator. Also standing out from the available texts is an illuminated Greek gospel lectionary from the late 11th century. Both the scribe and the illuminator are anonymous.
An autographed manuscript of the novel The Land of Mist by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle will be presented as well. The manuscript is signed at the end of chapter XI and is comprised of approximately 277 leaves. Other offered items include a first edition copy of Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë, a signed presentation copy of The Hunting of the Snark by Lewis Carroll, a first edition copy of Thoughts on the Education of Daughters with Reflections of Female Conduct by Mary Wollstonecraft, and more.
