Tiffany Pendant by Elsa Peretti and R. Kenton Nelson Painting Highlight O’Gallerie’s Upcoming SaleJan 18, 2022 18:00 EST
Italian-born designer Elsa Peretti became a popular runway model after she arrived in New York in the late 1960s. Her journey with jewelry designing took off when she tried her hand at crafting a sterling silver bud pendant, inspired by a flea market find. Soon, Tiffany & Co. noticed Peretti’s revolutionizing ideas and signed her in 1974. The model-turned designer is celebrated for creating some of the most innovative designs for Tiffany & Co. in her lifetime. O’Gallerie will be offering for sale a circular vintage Tiffany pendant by Elsa Peretti in this upcoming auction. Made of gold, the eternal circle is symbolic of longevity and love. Another jewelry highlight is a malachite bracelet with six curved double links and 14-karat yellow gold. A box clasp with a carved Chinese character for “good luck” is the most striking feature of the bracelet. In ancient China, malachite was prized for its potent healing properties.
R. Kenton Nelson’s Wheel Barrow leads the fine art offerings. The oil on board depicts a man pushing a wheelbarrow along a driveway. Nelson’s painting style is influenced by the WPA artists of the 1930s and American regionalism. To view the complete catalog and register to bid online, visit O’Gallerie.
