Andy Warhol’s Tidal Basin is leading the Sunshine Sale of Modern & Contemporary Art, offered by Dane Fine Art. It is a one-of-a-kind three-dimensional screenprint and collage on paper depicting a couple on a romantic getaway, produced by Warhol in 1983. The iconic Campbell’s Soup can painter rose to prominence with his paintings and screenprints. His painting style and subjects were as unique and extravagant as the artist. He chose to paint subjects that the American public was obsessed with, like Marilyn Monroe. Posters of Monroe by Andy Warhol are also available in the sale.

Madonna, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera performed two hits, Like a Virgin and Hollywood, during the 2003 VMA ceremony. Their performance and attire were wedding-inspired. Spears and Aguilera dressed as brides, and Madonna was in a black catsuit. The performance made headlines for the onstage kiss shared between Madonna and Spears. The image of the two pop sensations locking lips is shown in Line Kiss, a screenprint by Mr. Brainwash which is available in this sale. It is a hand-signed and thumb-printed, original screenprint in colors on hand-torn archival art paper created in 2009.
