In the Russian Fine Art & Antiques auction presented by Shapiro Auctions, you will oil paintings, porcelain, and more. Included is a Vasily Polenov (circa 1876) oil painting titled “The Herzegovian on Lookout.” Polenov was a Russian artist known as the “Knight of Beauty” as he seemed to embody both Russian and European traditions of painting. The painting featured in this auction is of an armed Herzegovinian looking into the distance. 

In the auction, too, is a rare Russian porcelain vase (circa 1875). This green vase features two griffins on either side with chartreuse heads and white and blue feathers. Also highlighted is a Russian porcelain saucer from the late 1920s by Vladimir Beidukat. The saucer depicts a woman in the center surrounded by a black and white flower pattern.
