Luxury Jewelry by H. Stern, David Webb to Sell at Rago in January

Rago will welcome 2024 with its upcoming Jewelry Unlimited sale, featuring over 250 lots of fine jewelry and timepieces. Leading the catalog is a multi-color sapphire, diamond, and gold necklace. Featuring sapphires in shades of pink, purple, green, yellow, and blue, this necklace measures a total of 18 inches. Sapphires are best known in their blue form, but contact with trace elements can yield a wide variety of other hues. Another notable jewelry lot in the sale is a brown diamond and gold pendant necklace from H. Stern. This ‘Stars’ pendant features light brown ‘Cognac’ round brilliant-cut diamonds. Brazilian jewelry firm H. Stern is known for its whimsical designs featuring precious stones; it was founded in 1945 by a German-Jewish immigrant, Hans Stern. 

Work by David Webb is also represented in the Jewelry Unlimited catalog. This includes an enamel and diamond ring designed to resemble a curved scallop. It is set in 18-karat yellow gold and platinum. During his lifetime, the jewelry designer David Webb focused on animal and natural designs. The David Webb company has maintained his vision in the decades since his death, producing colorful and playful jewelry items for the contemporary market.
