Late this December, Cain Modern Auctions will present over 600 pieces of furniture, fine art, and decorative art. Highlighted among the listed lots is Tanya Ragir’s Danielle sculpture, completed in a detailed, contemporary style. In her early years, the artist explored the many forms of dance, including modern, jazz, and ballet. Inspired by the femininity of dancers, Ragir’s work captures the movement of the graceful dancers. Another example of a bronze sculpture comes from Norma Goldberg. Titled Love, the available lot depicts two nude male figures holding each other in a compassionate embrace. “The piece can really communicate the love this couple feel[s] for each other and how protective one is of the other,” Cain Modern Auctions wrote in the lot description.
Another leading lot is a king bed in lucite and brass designed by Charles Hollis Jones. An American artist and furniture designer, Jones is known for redefining the use of acrylic and lucite in furniture. Over his decades-long career, he has collaborated with many celebrity clients, including Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, Diana Ross, John Lautner, and Tennessee Williams.
