Fine Silver From S. Kirk & Son, Georg Jensen to Sell at SJ Auctioneers

This spring sales event from SJ Auctioneers will present over 200 lots of silverware, toys, collectibles, jewelry, and other items. Leading the listings is a six-piece tea and coffee set from S. Kirk & Son. Known as one of the most popular silversmiths of the 19th century, Samuel Kirk introduced a classic repoussé pattern that has endured in popularity through the decades. His company created silverware for prominent New England families, including U.S. presidents. The offered sterling silver repoussé tea and coffee set includes a sharply-defined floral pattern from 1932. A coffee pot, tea pot, creamer pitcher, covered sugar bowl, waste bowl, and tray are included in the set. Also notable is a 69-piece sterling silver flatware set from Georg Jensen. This Swedish-style set was designed by Sigvard Bernadotte in the 1930s. Bernadotte, formerly a prince and member of the Swedish royal family, enjoyed a successful career in industrial and luxury design. These forks, spoons, and fish knives feature a sleek, modernist pattern of lines along their handles. 

Beyond silver, this auction includes several notable watches and jewelry lots. These include a Ulysse Nardin San Marco automatic wristwatch with an 18-karat yellow gold case, bezel, and clasp. Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin is known for its highly accurate and technically advanced marine watches. The offered San Marco comes to auction with both a leather band and a stainless steel band. From Tiffany & Co. is an 18-karat yellow gold pendant necklace designed by Elsa Peretti. The pendant is smooth and shaped like a bean.
