The second day of the upcoming two-day auction, offered by Austin Auction Gallery, will present diamond jewelry, sculpture, furniture, and more. Highlighted prominently in the second session of this auction is a pair of Napoleon III style Boulle work cabinets by Henry Dasson. Each cabinet has a marble top, two doors, and side panels decorated with marquetry. Known as a leading maker of bronze mounted furniture in the 19th century, Dasson’s works are known for the quality of bronze and precise chiseling seen on his pieces.
Also highlighted in this auction is an Italian Renaissance Revival carved and painted mahogany case clock. This piece has an arched hood, topped with winged putti. The painted moon dial bears Arabic numerals. Among the available jewelry lots, a platinum ring with a central oval sapphire surrounded by 24 diamonds is featured. A Duffner and Kimberly Company’s stained glass hanging light will cross the auction block as well. It features grape clusters surrounded by striated foliage; concealed among them are six lights with patinated bronze hardware.
