 Simpsons Galleries presents a well-selected assemblage of art, decorative arts, 20th – century design, jewelry, and collectibles in their upcoming  The second day of the auction will host antique textiles, art, furniture, and important maps, providing a rare opportunity for all the collectors to acquire the first revised version of Pressler’s Map of the State of Texas (1862). The map holds high historic significance with its incredibly rare printing. It captures the unsettled Texas landscape during the upheaval of the American Civil War.  

 The highlight of the auction is the oil on wood panel “Blue Dog Super Nova” by American artist George Rodrigue. The artist is known for transforming Louisiana’s loup-garou (Cajun Werewolf) into a pop art icon. The artist has gained popularity with his portraits of a quizzical blue dog framed by different landscapes.  

 An affectionate letter from Mark Twain (S.L. Clemens) dated May 8, 1890, for Miss Grace King, which he hand-penned and signed, is another rare collectible from the auction. The auction will present antique jewelry, furniture, paintings by renowned artists, statues, sculptures, bronzes, silverware, rugs and more.
