Among the highlights of the upcoming auction presented by Oakridge Auction Gallery is an antique Persian rug from the city of Isfahan. Dating back to the 1920s, the rug is decorated with an intricate floral pattern in shades of blue, red, and cream. Contemporary Isfahan artisans draw on a long tradition of calligraphy and mosaics to inspire their work, often creating detailed and brightly colored carpets. Several other antique rugs will also be available, including two Kazak carpets likely made in the Caucasus region in modern-day Armenia.
Decorative art, Asian antiques, and luxury jewelry will be available in this auction. A 74-piece set of Stieff sterling silver flatware is highlighted. Patterned with intricate flowers on the handles, the collection is assembled with multiple dates and markings. Chinese hairpins from the 19th century and glass decorative vases from Pennsylvania-based glassmaker James Harmon will be offered as well.
