American painter Eric Sloane (1905 – 1985) was renowned for his brilliantly illustrated books on American folklore and cultural history.  As a painter, he produced over 15,000 artworks. Sloane was best known for his evocative landscape paintings and his most famous painted work is probably the skyscape mural, Earth Flight Environment, which is on display in the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. One of Eric Sloane’s significant artworks, titled Sunset at 15,000 Feet, is a key highlight of the upcoming auction from George Cole Auctions & Realty. The all-original, untouched signed painting depicts various cloud formations and an aircraft flying in the sky. The art emphasizes the artist’s fascination with clouds and sky activities. 

An antique parcel-gilt bronze figure of Buddha also leads the listings. The lot features Lord Buddha with a contemplative expression, holding a wand in front of his face.
