About Auction House

We met in 1974 and both having an interest in antiques, opened the first multi-dealer antiques shop in the area, The High Falls Antiques Cache. Besides the shop, we both had full time jobs, and also participated in many antiques shows including Stanfordville, Brimfield, and the Bard show for 25 years, which later became The Rhinebeck Antiques Show.

    German-American painter Albert Bierstadt (1830 - 1902) was renowned for depicting lush landscapes and grandeur of the American West. He completed over 500 artworks during his lifetime. Bierstadt developed a flair for art at a young age, when he made crayon sketches. His most significant work remains The Rocky Mountains, Lander's Peak, rendered in 1863. One of Bierstadt’s major artworks titled Catskill Creek is a key highlight of the upcoming auction from George Cole Auctions & Realty. The signed painting captures Catskill Creek, one of the major tributaries to the Hudson River Estuary. The art emphasizes the artist’s fascination with nature and Western landscapes.  A fancy 14-karat gold ring also leads the listings. Sloane was best known for his evocative landscape paintings and his most famous painted work is probably the skyscape mural, Earth Flight Environment, which is on display in the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
