Though Vincent Van Gogh was little known during his lifetime, his contributions to Post-Impressionism were appreciated and recognized long after his death. Admired for his swirled landscapes and portraits, he is today known as one of the most dominant artists in history. A painting in Van Gogh’s style, titled Exterior of a Restaurant in Asnières, will be highlighted in the upcoming Brunk Auctions event. The available piece incorporates impasto paint and emphatic brushstrokes. Fine art collectors can also consider the work of Jules Zermati. His paintings show the rural life of Northern Italy, mostly depicting musicians, farmers, and feasts.

Also featured in the event is a set of 65 Kirk King sterling flatware from Samuel Kirk. Best known for introducing a technique of metalwork called repoussé, the company began its operation in 1815. This set, marked with the Samuel Kirk signature, was likely produced in the 20th century and includes hollow handle knives, salad forks, teaspoons, soup spoons, and more. Also available in this sale is a Pier table from the 20th century. The top is decorated with ormolu-mounted marble and the underside is set with a carved gilt eagle.
