One of the key lots available in the upcoming Cartier Van Cleef Designer Jewelry auction, presented by Allure Antique Auction Company, is a yellow, cushion-cut diamond. This individual gem is GIA-certified and has a total carat weight of 55.85. The auction also features a vintage Alhambra long necklace designed with 18-karat yellow gold, onyx, and round diamonds. Alhambra necklaces were first created by Van Cleef & Arpels in 1968 and have remained popular since. The available lot includes over 180 diamonds. Another highlight of the sale is a watercolor painting by Salvador Dalí. Created in the Neoclassical style, the painting is based on the Head of Giuliano de’ Medici. The watercolor includes a certificate of authenticity.
Known for capturing the urban streets and neighborhoods of New York City, American painter and etcher John Sloan was one of the founders of the Ashcan school of American art. One of Sloan’s oil paintings, featured in the auction, is mounted on board and depicts a street scene filled with cars and buildings.
