The origins of earrings for pierced ears trace back thousands of years; however, clip-ons were invented only in the Victorian era. In European countries, when women adorned elaborate wigs and attires that concealed their ears, the need for earrings was negligible. The 19th century marked a change in fashion with pulled-back tresses and relaxed collar styles becoming popular. The upcoming sale by Robinhood Auctions will feature a pair of Bulgari clip-on earrings designed with round-cut diamonds weighing 7.0 carats. Each earring features a floral setting, measuring 1.25 inches long and 1.15 inches wide. The statement pieces are crafted in 18-karat yellow gold and platinum and come in a gift box. 

Another noteworthy lot is a bright and bold pair of De Grisogono earrings. They are designed with pink sapphires totaling 15.20 carats and diamonds weighing 1.94 carats. The Swiss luxury jewelry house was established in Geneva in 1993 by Fawaz Gruosi, a Lebanese-Italian black diamond specialist.
