The upcoming Antiques Auction, offered by Morton Subastas, features works from artists such as Ivan Pavlovich, Antonio Peñafiel, and Nicolás Rodríguez Juárez, among others. Following the drawings and oil paintings, various firearms, furniture pieces, and decorative art items can also be found. One of the highlights is an oil on panel piece by 19th-century Ukrainian artist Ivan Pavlovich, depicting a country scene with Kurdish children. Pavlovich specialized in landscapes, Parisian street scenes, and various other scenic views. He became a Post-Impressionist painter after he was exiled to Belgium, where he spent most of his life.
Also included in this auction is an 1858 oil on canvas piece by Apollinary Gilyarievich Goravsky. In 1860, he came under the influence of the famous German landscape painter Andreas Achenbach, whose style is reflected in many of Goravsky’s works. The available piece captures a landscape with trees and peasants. Beyond paintings, the sale will also include two volumes of Monuments of Ancient Mexican Art from 1888.
