Andy Warhol’s Tidal Basin and Rare Limited Edition Works Highlight Dane Fine Art’s New Year Sale

Andy Warhol is regarded as one of the most prominent artists who shaped the 1960s Pop Art movement. The influential American visual artist is known for his exuberant portrayal of popular subjects and iconic American objects. Warhol often deployed his signature screen-printing techniques and used bright colors for his works. The upcoming New Year sale at Dane Fine Art will feature rare and limited edition works by the artist. Warhol’s Tidal Basin is a key highlight of the auction. Rendered in 1983, the artwork includes silkscreened ink on two colored sheets of paper and a collage on board. Hand-signed Warhol screenprints of Marilyn Monroe with distinct color variations and canvases painted with Campbell’s Soup cans feature in the sale as well. 

Far Far Down by American artist Brian Donnelly, known as KAWS, also leads the listings.  The original screenprint on paper depicts an abstract composition of graphic shapes in vibrant, bold colors. The signed screenprint was produced by the artist in 2018. This sale consists of over 1,000 lots, most of them modern and contemporary posters, prints, and multiples.
