Among the lots, Walnut dresser is a revival of classical Renaissance model that stretches from circa 1870. It is showcased as the highest valued piece of $2,000. The auction further reveals an art that works with patterns; adding an intense element of interest to the painting. Find more information on Soulis Auction.

The Long Beach Expo US Currency Signature Auction by Heritage Auctions is an offering of over 2,600 US currency-related items for the collector of fine and rare legal tender. Among the pieces expected to create the most interest is a newly discovered $50 gold certificate. It is a fully original and bright specimen, is the second finest known to exist, and displays the consecutive serial number to the PCGS Gem 65. It is so unique that Heritage says any final estimate is almost entirely conjecture.
Also, up for bid is a $5, 1995 Federal Reserve Notes complete sheet block set. The sheets are from the eighth district and have serial numbers that begin with “8888.” They were part of the BEP’s special Prosperity Sheet program that was based on the Chinese calendar. Only eight blocks were used for this program, with each block having a printing of just 8,888.
One lot that has created enough buzz that it has already exceeded its estimated final sale price is a $1, 1988A Web Federal Reserve note that is one of a very small number of web note errors known to exist. Now that just makes it very interesting to many collectors. View any of these lots and register to bid on Heritage Auctions.
With one of his legs paralyzed, a child named Toshi Yoshida began sketching animals with his ample spare time. He did not want to be exactly like his father, who was a landscape printmaker. But as an adult, he eventually used his skills to depict scenery. The result is one of the most striking pieces in the upcoming Rembrandt to Yoshida auction offered by Turner Auctions. “Mt. Rainier in Winter” uses the bold colors of traditional Japanese artwork to captivate viewers. With a starting bid of USD $100 and an estimated price of between $200 and $400, the piece will also be within the budget of most bidders.
As its name implies, the auction not only features the work of Toshi Yoshida, but also Rembrandt van Rijn. Rembrandt redefined painting in many ways during his career. Van Gogh said of him, “it is with justice that they call Rembrandt—magician—that’s no easy occupation.” But one of Rembrandt’s most important legacies is his self-portrait. Several lots in this auction highlight strength, including his self-portrait, wearing a soft hat.
Each lot in the auction represents time of the creators. However, one-piece dates far before Rembrandt. An ancient Greek or Roman marble head is available in this auction, with a starting bid of $200. The auction house estimates the piece was made between 200 B.C. and 200 A.D. Bidders should consider the condition of this piece before bidding. Those interested in any of these pieces can register to bid online on Bidsquare.
The Maurice Car Collection of Arts and Sciences Featuring Rare Books & Manuscripts, is a sale offered by Heritage Auctions. Among the most valuable and rare of the pieces up for bid is an autographed Latin manuscript by Sir Isaac Newton: “Notes on Physics and Solid Geometry, with Two Diagrams.” The manuscript written by Newton with brown ink has thirty-four lines of text appearing on the recto(right) and seventeen on the verso(left). Some of the lines have been crossed out and there are two diagrams on the verso. Newton autographed manuscript is rare, especially anything relating to his work in the sciences.
One of the more unusual visual art is an unsigned original abstract Picasso ink drawing. On the reverse is a small caption written by Picasso’s friend, surrealist artist and writer Valentine Hugo. It states that this drawing was done by Picasso at her place in 1942, experimenting with some of her father’s music pens with multiple tips. Also, in this lot are three ink pens believed to have been used by Picasso.
This sale also includes an archive of over 20 letters and postcards by Ezra Pound, most of them on his personal stationary. Ezra Weston Loomis Pound (1885-1972) was an expatriate American poet and critic, a major figure in the early modernist poetry movement, and his contribution to poetry began with his development of Imagism, a movement derived from classical Chinese and Japanese poetry. Imagism stressed clarity, precision, concision, and an economy of language. For more information about the complete archive, and any other lot, see the lot description in Heritage Auctions.

In their September 7 auction, Sotheby’s offers the wines of a Southern gentleman, who spent 20 years filling his cellars with some of the most unique wines in the world.
Leading the way is a 3-bottle lot of vintage 1989 Pomerol Bordeaux from Chateau Petrus. This complex and exotic wine features powerful tannins and rich spice flavors. Complementing the Petrus in the upper echelon of the collection are two separate lots of Chateau Lafite 1982, which, when last tasted in December 2013, offered bold and savory flavors with a fresh acidity and thick, velvety body.
For white wines, a 1976 Riesling from producer Egon Muller on Germany’s famed Scharzhofberg vineyard is sure to garner attention. Some auctions present lots from one country or civilization, while others, such as the Midsummer Buy Now Sale presented by Ambianic, offer pieces from all over the world. Ambianic specializes in mid-20th-century art, and their midsummer auction is no exception.
One of the most distinctive collectibles is a British lighter inspired by Alfred Dunhill Limited. The lighter has a strange, durian-like color and texture. This effect is achieved with silver-plated brass and shagreen leather. Decorative Arts make up the majority of lots in this auction. Among the pieces with the highest estimated value is a stone and copper sculpture from Rancho Santa Fe, California. Little is known about the sculpture’s origins, but it has a modern, abstract aesthetic. Ambianic notes that the piece will require professional handling for moving and installation.
Meanwhile, the most notable furniture item in this buy-now auction is a Mexican Modernist wall unit made with mahogany and goatskin. The piece has a sculptural, minimalist design except for a door which contains a traditional Japanese-inspired painting. Buyers will have the opportunity to purchase mid-century items from Mexico, England, America, and elsewhere at one buy-now price. Lots in this auction are primarily fine art, decorative art, furniture, and collectibles. View each of these lots and register to buy on Bidsquare.
A symbol of cultural sophistication, a collection of fine wines and spirits tells of their owner’s appreciation for perfect occasions. Each bottle represents a point in time in which it was bottled in which that bottle will be opened and enjoyed. Morton Subastas offers bottles appropriate for many occasions in their upcoming wine and spirits auction.

Inspirations can be found in various places: sceneries, nature, a piece of music and dreams. Dreams, specifically, leads to the treasures of the subconscious mind. To one of the most important Surrealist painters in the history of art, Salvador Dali, dreams and visions were just the right tools to base his work on. Sublime Summer Sale by Hill Auction Gallery presents one of Dali’s most notable paintings titled “Dali Dreams”.
Similarly, the auction provides a variety of promising items, combining works by Pablo Picasso, Theodule Augustin, and Dave McGary. While most recognize Picasso through his revolutionary paintings, only a handful know that he also designed 633 different ceramics. Among them is a pottery decorated with black paint which has made it to the featured lots in the auction. Theodule Augustin, whose painting is another highlight of the sale, brings about a dynamic realism and a predilection for complementary values to his artwork. The artist adored creating a sensation with portraits and figures.
Rest of the auction is packed with American and Indian ethnographic, timepieces, antiquities, lamps, fine China and tableware, sculptures and carvings. Find out more about all the 474 lots in Bidsquare.
