The mother of Buddhas

This Cundhi Avalokiteshvara bodhisattva, also known as Zhundi Guanyin, was made in China in the late Ming period, between the16th and17th centuries.

With its 28 arms and three eyes, this large (h. 80 cm) statue in lacquered and gilded copper alloy represents the mother of Buddhas, the bodhisattva Cundhi Avalokiteshvara, also known as Zhundi Guanyin. Her face expresses the serenity befitting her compassionate role.Produced in China in the late Ming period, between the16th and17th centuries,the sculpturewill be presented at Drouot (room 4) on Friday April 24 in theAder sale of Asian art(Mme Souksi, M. Fray) with an estimate of €10,000/15 ,000 .
