Aponem invited visitors to Drouot on Monday December 8. Devoted to Asia (expert Portier & Associés), the morning was devoted to China, represented by a silk portrait (208.5 x 117.5 cm) of Prince Zaiquan (1794-1836), produced in the19th century for €34 ,060 , and an aquarium (h. 52, diam. 58 cm – see Gazette no. 43) in gilt bronze and cloisonné enamel from the same period, for €11 ,790 . The afternoon offered a glimpse of life in the colonies, thanks to Augustino Brunias (circa 1730-1796), who immortalized the freed slaves of Saint-Domingue on a pair of panels (24 x 17.7 cm, one reproduced. expert : cabinet Turquin & Associés), which fetched €28,942. The necklace paved with emeralds and diamonds (see Gazette no. 43) found no takers.
