Exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in 1924, this “MF 732” armchair (81 x 70 x 60 cm, Cabinet Maury) by Pierre Chareau (1883-1950), with its sycamore armrests, was offered to buyers for €25,666 on Sunday April 12, at Enghien-les-Bains (Goxe, Belaisch, Hôtel des Ventes d’Enghien). Made in China in the14th century, a porcelain bowl (diam. 29.5 cm, cabinet Portier & Associés – see Gazette no. 14), decorated in underglaze blue with a pair of Mandarin ducks swimming in a lotus pond, was appreciated at €37 ,560 . Off to Croatia with Emanuel Vidovic (1870-1953), whose Houses in the Countryside (24.5 x 33 cm), a watercolor on pencil line, created a surprise at €22,032.
