The upcoming auction of Summer Asian Art, presented by Tenmoku Auctions Inc., features select pieces of Japanese art and Chinese antiques from the estate of Francis Caro. One highlighted lot is a large jade stone carved with the image of Guanyin and a child, seated close to each other and surrounded by trees. Guanyin, also referred to as the Goddess of Mercy, is associated with compassion.
Another lot of interest is a large yellow ground famille rose vase from the 19th century. The Chinese piece features intricately painted motifs and a Qianlong mark from the late 18th or early 19th century. A glazed square teapot, also from the Qianlong period, is available as well. The teapot is made of porcelain and features a marble-like pattern on the surface. Browse the full catalog or register to bid on Bidsquare.
